This year, I dedicate my Ramadan to Gaza!

The people of Gaza are about to experience the most difficult Ramadan in their history, in total deprivation. For over 4 months, more than 2 million people have been deprived of basic food and water supplies. They are far from home, living in makeshift tents that they have erected themselves using whatever resources they can find, but which cannot even protect them from the rain. While these families are threatened by famine, international aid continues to arrive in dribs and drabs.

How can we welcome the beautiful evenings of Ramadan knowing that the Gaza Strip has become unliveable and that the families will have nothing to appease their hunger and quench their thirst after a long day of fasting?

During this holy month, Gaza must be our most urgent priority. Every effort we make must be directed towards the devastated families who are suffering in the most destitute conditions, trapped in this open-air prison that has been transformed by this war into a "place of death and despair" according to the Secretary General of the United Nations.

This Ramadan, let's concentrate on the essentials: strengthening our solidarity and generosity to cover their basic needs and offer them something to break their fast and spend this month with dignity. Let's spread the word and invite our family and friends to join in this show of solidarity!

Our objective for this month is to cover the basic needs of as many displaced families as possible: tents and sanitary facilities, food, drinking water, hygiene products, clothing, etc.
